In the village of Rodia, just twenty minutes from our hotel, next to the famous Palace of the Modines, there is the holy temple of the Annunciation (Evangelismos of Theotokos), one of the most important Byzantine monuments of the Municipality.<\/p>\n
Chiesa Rodea, as it is called the temple, dates from the post-Byzantine period. Living the events of the time, the temple has undergone many and continuous changes in the morphology of its building. Despite all the changes, you can see some parts of its masonry, still preserved today by its original architecture. Official documents refer to the building’s changes to the temple, as well as parts of it that were undergoing a radical renovation.<\/p>\n
